Tip of the day:

Get/have enough Adiponectin.

What is Adiponectin?

Adiponectin is a protein hormone that modulates a number of metabolic processes, including glucose regulation and fatty acid oxidation. Adiponectin is exclusively secreted from adipose tissue (and also from the placenta in pregnancy) into the bloodstream and is very abundant in plasma relative to many hormones. (R)

The Higher Your Adiponectin Levels Are… The LESS Fat You Will Carry ..

higher levels of adiponectin are associated with:

  • Increased insulin sensitivity
  • More calorie burning
  • Curbing appetite
  • Increasing muscle efficiency

How To Raise Your Adiponectin Levels Naturally?

I always look for natural ways to balance my body,

whether by good food choices or quality supplements.

What is really encouraging is that there are certain things you can do to raise this fat burning hormone naturally.

  • Monounsaturated fats: Research has found that replacing saturated fat with monounsaturated fat caused increases in adiponectin levels. Even better monounsaturated fats seem to redistribute fat away from your belly. You can find monounsaturated fats in: Avocados, Olive oil, Macadamia nuts, Peanuts, Sesame Oil and lean beef from grass fed cows.
  • Exercise: Studies have shown that the more you move… the higher your adiponectin levels. Any exercise will do, just make sure to remain consistent. What I also like is that the fatter you are.. the more adiponectin is created through exercise (probably because your fat cells are bigger and adiponectin is created by your fat cells.)
  • Fish Oil: High quality omega-3s from fish oil also raise adiponectin levels. Make sure you get at least 2.4 grams a day of pure omega-3s and that it is in triglyceride form.

In my newsletter and future posts we will continue this conversation on supplements and more ways to get more fit in a positive and loving way.

Check back often or sign in here so you will never miss a single tip or resource!

Until then..

Be Encouraged!
